Nolan, 96, of Kelso died May 24, 1996 at the Hood River Care Center in Hood River, Ore. She was born Oct 8, 1899, in Tacoma, to Carl and Frederikke (Moeller) Andersen, and lived in Kelso from 1919 until 1995. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Longview; Rebekah Lodge; Order of Eastern Star; Navy Mothers; and the Grange. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and her many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons and three stepchildren. Survivors include a daughter Caroline Spartz of Portland; two sons, Stan Grieb of Oroville, Calif., and Carl Grieb of Ekalaka Mont.;, a sister Margaret Sapa of Fairmont, Minn.; five stepchildren, Irene Chamberlain of Kelso, Louise Hollis of Eureka, Calif., Darlene Peterson of Vancouver, Ivan Nolan of Aberdeen, and Don Nolan of Long Beach; 69 grandchildren; 305 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Columbia Funeral Service Chapel in Longview with Dr. James Whitaker officiating. Private interment will follow at Longview Memorial Park.
