Schaefer - Mrs. Jane Poland, 91, 1162 18th Ave., Longview, died in a local
hospital May 17.  Born December 25, 1874 in Kansas, she came to Kelso as a
pioneer in 1880.  She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Verna Olmstead, Longview; two grandchildren,
Mrs. J. K. Johnson, Spokane and Mrs. M. Alfred Taylor, Beaverton, six great
grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. T. M. Adams, Portland; and several nieces and
nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Steele Funeral Chapel
with the Rev. Wallace Bristol officiating.  Interment will be in the Riverview
Abbey Mausoleum, Portland.  The Steele Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
