Maude Poland, 89, of Carrolls, Washington, died July 23 in a local hospital
following an extended illness.  

Born March 13, 1877 in Reno, Washington, she had been a resident of Carrolls for
many years prior to moving to Everett in December 1966.  She was post mistress
for many years in Carrolls.

She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Ruthford of Sedro-Woolley, Mrs. Esther
Jones of Woodland, Washington, Mrs. Mildred Edwards of Seattle; one son, James
E. Poland of Carrolls, and seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced from Purdy and Walters Funeral Home.
