(POLAND) RULIFSON Submitted by: Jan Redelsperger, jansperger at gmail dot com Source: "Kelsonian," Kelso, Cowlitz Co., Washington, March 1908 Mrs. Rulifson Dead The sad intelligence was conveyed to our community yesterday that Mrs. E. A. Rulifson had succumbed to the illness from which she has been suffering for a considerable time. The deceased lady was the wife of Gus Rulifson and was a well known and respected resident of this community, having resided in this vicinity for many years. She was related by marriage to many of the prominent residents of this city, and her relatives and a host of friends mourn her demise. Mrs. Rulifson was a native of Fayette County, Illinois, and was born Oct. 3, 1861, being in her 47th year at the time of her death. In, 1881, she moved to this coast with her father, the late Alex. Poland and in 1888 was married to Gus Rulifson, one daughter, Ethel surviving. Besides her husband, four sisters and three brothers survive the deceased. The funeral services over the remains of the deceased were conducted from the parlors of the Methodist church this afternoon, Rev. T. M. Reese officiating, and the body was interred in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the sorrowing relatives and many friends mourn the untimely death of one whom they knew and loved for her generous, qualities as wife, mother, sister and friend.
