OBITUARY - WAYNE L. POLAND Submitted by: Jan Redelsperger, jansperger at gmail dot com Source: "The Daily News," Longview, Cowlitz Co., Washington, April 1968 Poland - Wayne L., 70, Winlock, died April 9 in a St. Helens, Ore. Hospital after a long illness. He was born at Carrolls Aug. 31, 1897. He moved with his family to Kelso in 1902 where he lived until World War I. A veteran of World War I, he lived the greater part of his life in California until his retirement in 1962 when he and his wife moved to Winlock. His survivors include the widow, Gladys; two daughters, Mrs. James McKain, of Portland and Mrs. Lawrence McConnel of Scappoose; one brother, Lloyd A. Poland of Longview; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Churchill of Puyallup and Mrs. Roy Watson of Kelso; and seven grandchildren. Friends wishing to express sympathy are invited to contribute to the Cancer Fund. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at eh Central Christian Church in Keso, with the Rev. E. L. Frost of Chehalis officiating.
