She was Born March 15, 1925 in Call, Texas,to Rudolph and Pearl M (Monk) Adams, and came to Longview 69 years ago from Call. She and Allen Carter were married on Aug. 9, 1943. A homemaker, Mrs. Carter loved her grandchildren and all children. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and going to the beach. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Allen, at home; a son, Gilbert Carter of Kelso, two daugters, Paulette P. Haas of Portland and Tracey Dunlap of Everett; a brother, Rudolph Adams of Longview; three sisters, Marion Hautala, Arleen Anderson, June Carter, all of Longview; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday at Steele Chapel with the Rev. Jim Conrad officiating. Privet interment will take place at Longview Memorial Park. Viewing hours are 9 am to 5 pm Wednesday at Steele. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
