OBITUARY - ADA PARRISH NOLAN Submitted by: Leona Johnson, bell_crazy2000 at yahoo dot com Source: "Longview Daily News" newspaper, January 1993 Ada Parrish Nolan, 76, of 645 15th Ave., Longview, died Jan 10, 1993, at St Johns Medical Center. She was born Sept 19, 1916, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Wayne and Jeanette (Mitchell) Carpenter, In 1949 she moved to the United States from Grand Prairie, Alberta. She worked in housekeeping at St Johns Hospital for 17 years, retiring in 1981. She and her first husband, Myron Parrish, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1986 by renewing their vows with their granddaughter and her husband. After Mr Parrish's death in 1988, she remarried Lawrence "Rusty" Nolan, who preceded her in death in July 1992. She was a member of the Longview Eagles and belonged to two bowling leagues. She enjoyed carpentry and loved dancing. Survivors include three daughters, Sheila Garner of Harvey, Ark., Georgia Ray of St.Helens, Or., and Myrtle "Sam" Johnson of Longview; a son, Melvin Parrish of Vancouver; a sister, Mae Campbell of Gig Harbor, Wa. ; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was prededed in death by two sisters and four brothers. The funeral will be at 3p.m. wednesday aat Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park. Private entombment will be at Longview Memorial Park. Friends wishing to pay respects may call from 5 to 8 this evening and from 9a.m. to 2p.m. wednesday at the funeral home.
