OBITUARY - WILFRED KENNINGTON Submitted by: Vikk, VGDriver1 at aol dot com Source: "Lewis River News," Woodland, Cowlitz Co., WA, Thursday, April 3, 1958 Funeral Held for Former Missionary The Reverend Wilfred Kennington died Mar. 25 at a Vancouver hospital after a three month illness. He was born April 11, 1885 in England and has lived for the past 10 years in the little settlement known as Eddyrock near LaCenter. He leaves his wife, Olive; sons W.W. Kennington and the Rev. John D. Kennington, Portland, and Richard H. Kennington of Chicago, Ill; daughters Mrs. Mary O. Moulton in Illinois, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Nance of Portland, Mrs. Dorothy W Chance in India and Mrs. Marjorie D. Baker in Formosa. There are 18 grandchildren and two sisters in Australia. Mr. Kennington was a retired missionary, he and his wife having served 14 years in China. He held pastorates in Oregon and Washington, besides doing evangelistic work in many churches. He was a member of the Woodland Fellowship Tabernacle. He was also an artist and many churches in this and other area are graced by his paintings. Funeral services were held Friday, Mar. 28 at the Vancouver Funeral chapel with the Rev. Frank Morgan, Woodland, and the Rev. Bruce Hughes, Tacoma, in charge. Internment was in Park Hill Cemetery.
