FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR GEORGE MCCORKLE

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for George F. McCorkle, 78, who
died Aug. 8 in Vancouver.

McCorkle was born Feb. 23, 1880, in Howell Prairie, Ore.  He came to Woodland in
1919 where he owned and operated a garage and service station until his
retirement in 1954.

He was a member of the Woodland Masonic Lodge 217 F&AM.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Woodland; a son Albert N. of Vancouver; one
grandson, George W. of Corvallis, Ore., a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Wolfe of Salem,
and three great grandsons.

Services were held in the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Walter L. Peterson
officiating.  The Masonic Lodge had memorial rites at the Riverside Mausoleum
chapel, with vault internment following.

Woodland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
