BRIDGEFARMER Submitted by: Vikki, VGDriver1 at aol dot com Source: "Lewis River News," Woodland, Cowlitz Co., WA, Thursday, 4 Dec 1958 Bridgefarmer Services Conducted Saturday Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 29, in the Woodland Christian Church at 2 p.m. for David S. Bridgefarmer, a Woodland resident since 1923. Bridgefarmer died at his 553 CC St. home Nov. 27 at the age of 84. The services were conducted by the Rev. Clifford Bethune. Burial followed at Parkhill Cemetery in Vancouver. Woodland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Bridgefarmer was born Oct. 28, 1874 in Tangent, Ore. He operated farms in Tangent, in the Palouse, Wa. Area, and in Montana before coming in Woodland in 1923 where he farmed up the Lewis River Rd. for about 20 years. He also operated an insurance agency for about 20 yrs. He had been a member of Woodland Christian Church since 1925, and a member of the Grange for 60 years. In addition to his wife Hilda of Woodland, he is survived by his two sons Harold and Harvey, Vancouver; two daughters, Lois Grieger, Woodland, and Grace Howell, Albany, Ore.; two granddaughters, one great grandson, six stepsons, Rollo, Vernon, Warren, Robert, Wilson and also Sackenthall all of the Spokane area; and two step daughters, Ruth Smelcer, Priest River, Ida., and Leoti Harke, Spokane.
