Schei who died at his Woodland home Sunday morning at the age of 77 after a long illness. Schei was born Apr. 11, 1881 in Forde Sunnfjord, Norway. He came to the United States in 1901, and to Woodland in 1911, returning to Norway in 1914 to get married. He retired in 1952 from the North Pacific Railroad. He is survived by his wife, Astrid; a son, Ansgar of Woodland; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Slane of Portland, and Mrs. Genevieve Engelhorn, LaHabra, Calif.; three brothers, Oliver of East Stanwood, Calif., Olaf and Elias in Norway; three sisters, Miss Anna Schei, Miss Soffia Schei, and Mrs. Rachel Eldell all in Norway; and eight grandchildren. The service was conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.s. in the Woodland Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Lee Andrews. Vault internment was at Park Hill Cemetery, Vancouver.
