Funeral for Former Resident Saturday

Olaf Bong, 46, who was killed in a place crash near Reedsport May 9, was a
Woodland and LaCenter resident for many years before moving to Ft. Bragg, Calif.
The funeral was Saturday at Vancouver Funeral Home.


Bong's wife and a sister-in-law, both from Woodland, also died in the crash, an
account of which appeared in last weeks issue of the News.


He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Edla Bongs of LaCenter; brothers Oscar of
Bremerton, Carl & Fred of Vancouver and Eric of Longview; sisters: Sigrid
Johnson of Kelso, Nanna Adams of Battleground, Marie Taylor of LaCenter and
Mabel Robbins of Woodland; and daughters, Jean, 18 and Edna, 16 of Ft. Bragg.
