Peter Niemi dies Monday

Peter Niemi of 625 Niemi Rd., died Monday in Vancouver Veteran Hospital after a
long illness.
 

Niemi had lived in Woodland his entire life, having been born here Apr. 5, 1912.
He was a logger, except for the time spent in the U.S. Army during World War II,
and was a member of VFW Post No. 1917 of Woodland.
 

Surviving relatives include three brothers, Ocea and Charlie both of Castle Rock
and Van of Alder; three sisters, Mrs. Impi Calkins, Woodland, Mrs. Edith
Johnston, Vancouver, and Mrs. Lillian Hansen, LaCenter.
 

Funeral services will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church Saturday at
1 p.m. by the Rev. Alan Hatlen.  Burial will be at Frank Abel Cemetery.
