OBITUARY - ALTA MAE OLESON Submitted by: Vikki, VGDriver1 at aol dot com Source: "Lewis River News," Woodland, Cowlitz Co., WA, Thursday, 12 Aug 1959 Oleson Service held Tuesday Services were held Tuesday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church for Alta May Oleson, who died in a Portland hospital Saturday after a long illness. Mrs. Oleson had been a Woodland resident for 20 years, helping her husband Francis start Olesons store and operate it 12 years. She served on both the Woodland Town Council and Park Board, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was born Aug. 22, 1898 at Montesano. Besides her husband Francis (Fox), Mrs. Oleson is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leona Foglia of Woodland and Mrs. Shirley Jungk of Ridgefield; two brothers, Ransom Minkler of Aberdeen, and Victor Minkler of Shelton, Wisc.; three sisters, Mrs. Mina Taylor, Paisley, Ore., Mrs. Pearl Ketchum, Mill City, Ore., and Mrs. Lowly Prescott, Grand Rapids, Mich., and four grandchildren. The services were conducted by the Rev. Lee Andrews at 1 p.m. Vault internment followed at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver. Woodland Funeral Home was in charge.
