Services will be conducted Friday, Mar. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Christian Church. Nelson was born July 8, 1881 in Nebraska, and as a retired farmer has been living the past three years in Longview. He previously resided in Woodland. He was a member of Woodland Christian Church. Surviving relatives include: five sons, Lester, Leonard and Alden Nelson all of Woodland, Harvey, Riverside, Calif., and Gail, Missoula, Montana; two daughters, Myrtle Roane, LaCenter, and Ella Mae Swett, Woodland; nine sisters, Julia Thayer, Albion, Neb., Anna Duhackef, Mary McIntosh, Hattie Weiand, Mabel Smith, all of Newmans Grove, Neb., Emma Callie, Licking, Mo., Sadie Kezland, Meadow Grove, Neb., Nellie Nelson and Margaret McGuire, both of Grand Island, Neb., and by 31 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Clifford Bethune and vault internment follows at Park Hill Cemetery, Vancouver. Woodland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
