OBITUARY - MAUDE MINNIE NEWKIRK Submitted by: Vikki, VGDriver1 at aol dot com Source: "Lewis River News," Woodland, Cowlitz Co., WA, Thursday, 24 Jan 1957 Newkirk Funeral Is Held Tuesday Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Presbyterian church for Mrs. Maude Minnie Newkirk, 66, of Ariel, who died Saturday in Vancouver. Mrs. Newkirk had lived her entire life in Woodland. She was a member of the Woodland Assembly of God Church. She was born July 10, 1890 at Ariel. Survivors include 4 sons, The Rev. Jesse L. Tooley of Orchards, James Tooley of Walla Wall, Cecil Tooley of Myrtle Beach, Ore., Albert Tooley of Portland; three daughters, Mrs. Ann George of Portland, Mrs. Thelma Ferguson of Myrtle Beach, Ore., Mrs. Marjorie Gross of Winston, Ore.; two brothers, George Davis and Paul Davis of Woodland; and 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The service was conducted by the Reverends S.C. Jacobson and Walter Peterson. Burial followed at Frank Abel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Beebe, Charles Beebe, Vade Balch, Harvey Fisher, Robert Kouvo, Darrell Olsen. Woodland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
