OBITUARY - MATILDA BRANSTRATOR Submitted by: Vikki, VGDriver1 at aol dot com Source: "Lewis River News," Woodland, Cowlitz Co., WA, Thursday, 16 May 1957 Funeral Services for Mrs. Branstrator Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Phillips Catholic Church for Mrs. Matilda Branstrator, who passed away at Gresham, Ore., May 9. The Rev. Patrick O’Brien officiated. Mrs. Branstrator was born in Woodland Feb. 15, 1886, the daughter of George and Ella Goerig, early Woodland residents and the grand daughter of Francis Goerig, who came to the Lewis River Valley in 1865. She was married in Woodland to Mr. Branstrator, who was a teacher in the local schools. He died several years ago. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hope Harvey, Vallejo, Calif., and Mrs. Adeline White of Everett; 2 sons, George of Portland and Elwell of Salem, one sister, Mrs. Marie Blue, Woodland, and four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial was in a family plot at the Hayes Cemetery with the Vancouver Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Harry Andrews, Glen Bozarth, William Mills, Curtis Gardner, and Gordon Hanley.
