OBITUARY - FRANK ORVEL RUSSELL Submitted by: Leona Johnson, bell_crazy2000 at yahoo dot com Source: "The Daily News," Longview, Cowlitz Co., WA, Jan 1997 Frank Orvel Russell, 79, of 1118 Hazel Dell Road, Castle Rock, died Jan 28, 1997, at the Hospice Care Center. He was born June 28, 1917, in Burlington, Wyo.; to David G. and Clarissa (Tanner) Russell, and moved to the local area from Wyoming in 1945. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr Russell worked at Weyerhaeuser Co. as a powerhouse boiler fireman and was a retired member of the International Woodworkers of America Local 536. He was a 25 year member of the Longview Eagles and a 31 year member of Sunnyside Grange. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed camping, and his children. He was a loving husband and father. He and his wife Alice, were married May 8, 1954. She survives him at home. He also leaves two sons, Patrick Russell of Castle Rock, and Michael Russell of Longview; a brother Clyde Russell of Longview; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Columbis Funeral Chapel with private interment at Whittle-Hubbard Cemetery in Castle Rock. Viewing hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Columbia Funeral Service.
