John A. Johnson Passes

John A. Johnson, age 68, pioneer of Cowlitz County, died on Thursday morning,
November 25 at 1:20 o'clock.  Mr. Johnson was born in Clinton, Illinois on April
4, 1858.  Me married Miss Clara E. Clifton at Kenny, Illinois on August 15,
1883.  They came to Castle Rock in 1888, where they have resided since.  He is
survived by the widow, of Castle Rock; three sons, William of Portland, Harry of
Porterville, California, and Clifford of Castle Rock; one daughter, Mrs. Edna
Douglas, of Toledo; two brothers, C. R. Johnson of Castle Rock, and D. C.
Johnson of Oak Grove, Oregon, and 9 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held
Friday afternoon in the Christian Church.  Rev. W. W. Crabb officiated.  Burial
was in Whittle Cemetery.
