OBITUARY - EDGAR EDWARD SEARLS Submitted by: Leona Johnson, bell_crazy2000 at yahoo dot com Source: "The Daily News," Longview, Cowlitz Co., WA Edgar Edward Searls, 86, of Tacoma died Sept 29, 1988, in a local nursing home. He was born June 9, 1902, in Castle Rock and was a 1920 graduate of Castle Rock High School. Before he retired, Mr Searls worked for 42 years as a section foreman for North Pacific Railroad. He moved to Tacoma in 1957. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 61, Order of Eastern Star and several flower and garden clubs. Mr Searls loved flowers and at one time grew 400 varieties of roses. He is survived by a sister, Esther Fuller of Santa Maria, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Barbara Searls of Tacoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hubbard Funeral Chapel wi the Rev Carl Beal officiating. Private interment will be be at Mountain View Cemetery in Tacoma. Friends and family may pay their respects from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
