Owens Shaffer will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Cowlitz View Memorial Park, Kelso. She died Sunday of causes related to age in a Vancouver nursing home. She was 88. Mrs. Shaffer was born Jan. 14, 1902, in Madison, S.D., and had lived in Vancouver the last 29 years. She was a retired telephone operator for St. John's Medical Center in Longview. Mrs. Shaffer was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Surviving Mrs. Shaffer are her son, Robert L. of Vancouver; daughters, Beverly Prince of Seattle and Carole Crosby of Sunnyvale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
