MILLER, 88, EX-OFFICIAL AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS Jay K. Miller, former assistant director of printing and publishing at Stanford University Press, died Feb. 12 at a Mountain View convalescent hospital. He was 88 and a resident of Sunnyvale. Mr. Miller had suffered from diabetes for many years and had been in failing health, said his son Cameron. A native of North Dakota and a 1928 graduate of the University of Montana, Mr. Miller worked in New York City for the World Telegram newspaper and for McCall's, Redbook and Fortune magazines, as well as Time Inc. He also owned and operated his own newspaper, the Cowlitz County Advocate, in Castle Rock, Wash. He began working at Stanford in 1951 and retired in 1971. In addition to his son Cameron of Los Altos, he is survived by sons Christopher of Woodside and Eric of San Bruno, daughter Cindy Moore of Sacramento and 11 grandchildren. Services have been held. The Neptune Society of Belmont handled arrangements.
