White -- Cougar A lifelong Cowlitz County resident, David Raymond White, 69, died in Longview on Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999. A logger most of his life, Mr. White loved the woods. He enjoyed reading and watching old movies. He was a member of the Battle Ground Elks Lodge. Mr. White was born April 19, 1930, in Kalama. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dixie, at home; one daughter, Debbie Clabaugh of Battle Ground; one son, Danel MacWhyte of Arlington, Wash.; four brothers, Robert, Chester and Edwin, all of Kalama, and Barry of Kelso; two sisters, Brownie Preston of Castle Rock and Nancy Jacobs of Kelso; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David W., in 1995. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant View Church near Ariel.
