OBITUARY - LAURA (ROWLAND) ZEISMAN Submitted by: Leona Johnson, bell_crazy2000 -at- yahoo -dot- com Source: "The Daily News", Longview, Cowlitz Co., Washington Laura Zeisman, 74, of 306 Zeisman Road, Kalama, died Feb. 12, 1997, at St.Johns Medical Center. She was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Lewistown, Mont., to Fred W. and Eltie L (Welch) Rowland. In 1937 she came to Kalama, where she remained the rest of her life. She was a graduate of Kalama High School. Mrs. Zeisman was a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 99 of Kalama, where she had been a Noble Grand and district deputy, and had earned her 50-year jewel pin. She was also a member of the Eagles, the Eagles Auxiliary and the Oddfellows, all in Kalama. She loved helping people and enjoyed traveling. Her husband of 48 years, Emil L. Zeisman, died April 9, 1994. She was also preceeded in death by two brothers, Fred Rowland and Russell Rowland. Survivors include a daughter Alice Tatman of Portland; six sisters, Juanita Saylor of Sweetgrass, Mont., Eltie Ross of Clear Lake, S.D., Jessie Johnson of Castle Rock, Violet Mahafey of Kelso, Irene Davis of Longview and Clara Osbeck of Seattle; four brothers, Robert Rowland of Kelso, Frank Rowland of Amboy, Wash., James Rowland of Bellingham and Melvin Rowland of Seattle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dahl's Ditlevsen-Moore Funeral Home with Chaplain Lonnie Hamby officiating. Afterward a luncheon will be held at the Kalama Methodist Church. Friends may pay their respects until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
