"John McCorkle is Dead, Native of Cowlitz Since 1850 Survived by Four Children" John McCorkle of Lexington, a native of Cowlitz county, who was born on the old McCorkle donation claim at Lexington, July 26, 1859, died Friday following a long illness. Mr. McCorkle was a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. McCorkle, Cowlitz valley pioneers. He was a skilled woodworker and cabinet maker, but has farmed for the last few years. He and Louise Buse were married August 14, 1880. Surviving are four children, May and Charles of Lexington, Frank of Centralia and William of Portland. Funeral services were conducted today from the family residence by Rev. R. A. Walmsley. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
