OBITUARY - JOSEPH O'NEILL

The death of Joseph O'Neill, Castle Rock attorney, occurred at a Portland
hospital Saturday, following an operation.  He was 65 years of age and had lived
in Cowlitz county 38 years.  For many years he engaged in teaching, being for
two terms county school superintendent of Cowlitz county, later postmaster at
Castle Rock and otherwise politically prominent in that section.  O'Neill is
survived by his widow and two children: also two brothers and three sisters. 
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Castle Rock Catholic church.  Mr.
O'Neill was well known to many Lewis county people who will regret to learn of
his death.
