Pioneer Dies Woodland, Nov. 7 -- Sam Conrad, one of Woodland's pioneers, died at the home of his son, Carlton Conrad, of Longview, Monday of pneumonia. Mr. Conrad was born near Hillsboro, Ore., in 1854. January 17, 1883 he married Emma T. Vanbebber who died 30 days ago on October 6. Mr. Conrad has always taken an active interest in the affairs of this community, being especially active in the grande and the county fair.

Surviving relatives are a son, Carlton of Longview; two daughters, Mrs. Ethelyn C. King of Woodland, who was making her home with her father; and Mrs. Ruth Sherman of Portland.
