"Services Held For Civil War Veteran"

Kelso, Thursday, April 21---Funeral services were held at Castle Rock yesterday
afternoon for C. W. Newton, 83 years old, one of the last surviving Civil War
veterans in Cowlitz County, and a pioneer of the Castle Rock district, who died
Monday at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Fred Johnson.  Patriotic
organizations participated in the services.
