WILLIAM "BILL" HAROLD SEARCY May 25, 1921 ~ June 15, 2010 William "Bill" Searcy, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on June 15, 2010 after a short illness, at the age of 89. He was born in Condon, OR on May 25, 1921 to Nellie and Wier Searcy. William joined the Marine Corps during World War II and served in the Pacific. He was honorable discharged September 30, 1945. On June 10, 1945 William and Harriet Johnson were married in Portland, OR. Together they raised three sons. William was a avid fisherman, loved woodworking and gardening until his later years. After his retirement from Reynolds Metals in Longview, WA in 1983, he and Harriett became Snowbirds traveling with long time friends to Arizona. William loved his family and enjoyed family get together, the cry for pie and a story or two. He will be missed by all of us. Rest in peace Dad, you did good! William is survived by sons, Larry H. Searcy and James L. Searcy both of Vancouver, WA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet "Jean", in 2007; son, Richard Searcy in 1998; and grandson, Christopher Searcy in 1989. Memorial services will be held in Kelso, WA at Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home, 301 Allen Street, Kelso, WA. Service to be held on Fri., June 18 at 4:00.
