OBITUARY: SHIRLEY M. (TAYLOR) BURCH Submitted by: Leona Johnson Source: "The Daily News", Longview, Cowlitz Co., Washington Shirley M. Burch, 76, of Kelso, passed away September 9, 2004, at home. She was born November 18, 1927, in Toledo, Washington, to Everette & Lois (Heintzelman) Taylor, and moved to Kelso from Midway City, California, in 1972. Shirley was an R.A. Long High School graduate, and enjoyed gardening, movies, movie stars and celebrities. She volunteered at the hospital, was a very loving wife and mother and cared about everyone. She also cared about animals and nature. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Oliver A. Burch in 1995; a grandson, Jason Evans in 1989. Survivors include four sons, Darryl Burch of Ellensburg, Duane Burch of Garden Grove, California, Gary Burch of Orange, California and Stephen Burch of Nicut, West Virginia; two daughters, Sherryl Edgecomb of Kelso and Sharlene Johnston of Graham; sister, Evelyn Prest of Seal Rock, Oregon and eleven grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held Monday, September 13, 2004 1:00 p.m. at the Kelso First Presbyterian Church. Private interment will follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery.
