Martin, Harvey A. - Born in Danville, Illinois, Dec. 18th, 1840, died in Kelso Dec. 8th [1914], aged 74 years. He came to the Territory when a boy. In 1856 he joined Capt. Hamilton J. G. Maxon's Company of Mounted Volunteers. At Vancouver to fight the Indians, serving from Feb. 13th until the company was disbanded in April, though at the time he was but 15 years of age.
