Rowland--Mrs. Eltie, 57, of Kalama, died in a Vancouver hospital April 21. Born
in Lewiston, Mont., Nov. 18, 1896. She had lived in Kalama for the past 16
years. Survivers include the widower, Fred W. of Kalama; seven daughters, Mrs.
Juanita Saylor of Roundup, Mont.; Mrs. Eltie Whitcraft of Kalama; Mrs. Jessie
Johnson of Castle Rock, Mrs. Violet Mahaffey of Fortuna, Calif., Mrs. Laura
Zeisman of Kalama, Mrs. Irene Mackay of Kelso and Miss Clara Rowland of Kalama;
four sons, Robert of Eureka, Calif., Cpl. Frank Rowland and Pfc. James Rowland
of the U.S. Army in the Far East and Melvin Rowland of Kalama; 11 grandchildren;
four brothers, Edgar Welsh of The Dalles, Arthur Welsh of Klein, Mont.; Roscoe
Welsh of Livingston, Mont. and Carl Welsh of Helena, Mont. Funeral arrangements
are pending. The Ditlevsen-Moore Funeral Home is in charge.
