Taylor Susie Jane Pea was born in Barton County, Missouri, December 14 1881, and died near Los Angeles, California, January 12,1916, aged 34 years and 29 days. When ten years of age she came to Kelso with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Pea, arriving here May 17, 1891. After residing here for three years the family moved to Ariel on the Lewis river in July, 1894, and her parents continue to make their home at that place. They were among the early settlers in that community. In April 1902 she married C.A. Taylor at Kelso, and she made her home here continuously until about two years ago, when Mr. Taylor disposed of his local intrests and moved onto a farm near Cascade Locks, Oregon. Recently the family moved to Oregon city, Oregon. Mrs. Taylor went to California about a month ago and it was near Los Angeles that the end came. Besides her grief stricken husband she leaves six children and one step daughter to mourn her untimely demise. These are Ethel, Alfred, Dorothy, Earl, Martha, Donald and Nellie. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Pea of Aried; four sisters, Mrs. C.W. Eaton or Ariel, Mrs. Charles Hartsock of Oregon City, Mrs. E.G. Stallcop of Lebam and Mrs. F.M. Stallcop of this place; four brothers, Charles, John and Frank Pea of Ariel and William Pea of Cathlamet also survive to mourn her loss. Her kind and affectionate presence will be greatly missed by the large family circle and by her many intimate friends in this community. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the Christian church of which deceased was a member, with Rev. David Norcross officiating. Mrs. Taylor was for many years a member of St. Helens Rebekah Lodge No. 57, Interment will be made here.
