"TWO OLD RESIDENTS CALLED TO REWARDMrs. William ParsonsMrs. William Parsons, an early resident of Cowlitz county, succumbed Wednesdayforenoon at her home at Carrolls following and extended illness. Mrs. Parsonscame to Cowlitz county in 1888, the family settling at Eufala. A few years agothey sold their Eufala place and moved to Kelso, and later located at Carrolls,where Mr. Parsons is in business.Abigail McKillips was born in Linn county, Kansas, January 13th, 1856. She wasmarried to William Parsons August 13th, 1882, and to this union seven childrenwere born, of whom four, along with the sorrowing husband, survive to mourn herloss. They are Benjamin, John and Samuel Parsons and Mrs. T. L. Gosa of thisplace. One brother, Thomas McKillips of San Dimas, California, also survives.When a girl, Mrs. Parsons united with the Methodist Church and remained afaithful christian throughout her life.Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church Friday, October 24th,by Rev. O. F. Krieger. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery."NOTE: Children preceding Abigail McKillips Parsons in death were sons Charles L.Parsons, Alfred Parsons, and Otis Alexander Parsons (Otis died at age 3 months19 days).
