"This picture was taken by John Jacob Ostrander, the contractor and my grandfather. I think his school must be newly finished so this would be 1919. This picture was identified by a researcher from Skamania Co. She just happened to look in one of Gaye Richards' books. There it was, another almost identical photo of this school only after it was used for a while. Then she connected me to Gaye. Gaye told me this school was commissioned by the Wisconsin Logging and Timber Co., part of a new school project. I tried to find information about such a project from the WA state preservation people but had no luck.
There is another name on the back of the photo, Blanche Carlstrum. I believe Blanche was the original owner of this photo and that my father got it from her when he went back to Oak Point for logging camp reunions. That was in the 1960s."
