"Andrew Carland Funeral Today"

Andrew Carland, who died Wednesday, would have been 66 years old the twentieth of this month had he lived. He was born in Ashville, N. C. in 1842. He enlisted in the Confederate army at the age of eighteen years and served the full duration of the war. He came West in 1890 and lived in different parts of Washington. Nine years ago he settled in Centralia. He is survived by a widow and eleven children.

The funeral ws held from the Sticklin undertaking parlors at 10:30 o'clock this morning. The Rev. A. J. Joslyn officiated. Burial was in Washington Lawn cemetery.

The children who were at the funeral were Mrs. J. H. Somerville, Centralia; Mrs. S. W. Parsons, Effie Carland, Portland; Josephine Carland of Phoenix, B. C., and Zella and John Carland of Centralia. Five sons were unable to be present.
