Mrs. Anna Eastman Dies Wednesday

Mrs. Anna C. Eastman, widow of H. D. Eastman, one of Chehalis' last Civil War veterans, whose death occurred four years ago, died at the family home on Main street early Wednesday. She was 85 years and S months of age and was born at Wellsboro, Penn. Mr. and Mrs. Eastman came to Chehalis 21 years ago. Mrs. Eastman, who was most highly esteemed by many friends who knew her, was a member of the Women's Relief Corps and the local Christian Science church. She is survived by a son W. J. Eastman, well known local rural carrier, who is prominent in the rural state organization; and four daughters, all of Chehalis, the latter being Mrs. Carrie Leonard, Mrs. Joseph DeLeau, Mrs. E. H. Thompson and Mrs. E. O. Albers. A cousin, P. L. Kelly, lives at Olympia. There are also ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 at Sticklin's Mortuary under Christian Science auspices. Burial will be at Claquato.
