Mrs. J. W. Helmick Dies At Napavine

Napavine, Dec. 16. - Death claimed one of Napavine's much loved matrons when Mrs. Alza Hay Helmick passed to the great beyond, Sunday during the noon hour, at the family home one-half mile west of here. Mrs. Helmick was born November 22 1855, near Union Mills, Ind. She was married to J. W. Helmick March 17 1878. To this union were born four sons, Ora T. Helmick of Union Mills, Ind.; Nelson J. Helmick of Hood River, Oregon; O. D. Helmick of Napavine; C. V. Helmick, deceased; and one daughter, Mrs. C. W. Tschudin of Napavine, who with the widower survive her. There are also eleven grandchildren, eight great-granchildren, four brothers and one sister. Mrs. Helmick was a life members of the Methodist church and had been a resident of Napavine twenty-seven years. The funeral was held from the local Methodist church yesterday afternoon. Rev. R. B. Parcel officiating. Mrs. W. W. Emery sang Mrs. Helmick's favorite songs, "It Is Well With My Soul" and "The Old Rugged Cross." The pall bearers were M. F. Marshall, R. P. Harris, W. G. Hawkins, Robert Carroll, H. W. Prine and H. A. Romerman. Burial in Mt. View cemetery was direceted by L. R. Cattermole.
