Mrs. Amelia Konopka, 74, a native of Austria, and for the last 31 years a resident of Pe Ell, died at the family home here Saturday, March 31, following a lingering illness. Surviving members of the family are the widower, Peter Konopka; one son, John Konopka of Pe Ell; and four daughters, Mrs. Katherine Kroll of Pe Ell, Mrs. Helen Stowers of Satsop, Mrs. Edith Page of Mount Vernon, and Mrs. Carrie Pleasant of Bonner, Mont. Many out-of-town visitors were in attendance at the funeral, which was held Monday morning from the Church of the Holy Cross, Rev. Father Torporoski officiating. Burial was in the Pe Ell cemetery, directed by E. C. Fissel.
