COAL MINE INCREASES ITS OUTPUT

WASHINGTON COAL & MINING COMPANY SPENDING SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS ON NEW SCREENING PLANT.

The Washington Coal & Mining Co., whose mines are located about half way between Centralia and Mendota, on the Eastern Railway & Lumber Company's railroad, is at this time spending several thousand dollars on a new re-screening plant, which will be finished about the first of October. This company commenced shipping coal the first of last March and have been shipping about 100 tons a day. After the present improvements are completed the output will be increased to 250 tons per day.

The officers of the Washington Coal Mining Co. state that they have sufficient orders ahead to keep the mine running full blast all winter, and prospects are good for several more large orders.

J. E. Bennight, general manager of the company, has just opened offices in the United States National bank building.
