Permits Total $51,426

Increase in County Building Pace Seen

The building pace in the Lewis County area took a big jump this week as 32 permits were issued totaling $51,426. Last week's permit value was $14,625.

Lewis County led in the value department with four permits issued worth $37,000. All four permits were to construct homes in the county area.

Chehalis issued 19 permits for a total of $9,650. Centralians received only nine permits worth $4,776.

The week's most valuable permit went to Glen Brooks, $14,500 to construct a home in Morton.

Alfred Scherer, $13,600, to build a home on the Jackson highway south of Chehalis.

William G. Radford, $6,500, to build a house at Packwood.

William E. Blankenship, $3,000, to construct a cabin at Randle.

Building permits in Chehalis this week went to:

West Coast Grocery, $5,000, for remodeling at Main and State streets.

Earl Goldsmith, $1,000, for new roof at 490 Prindle St.

Ray Spears, $1,500, to re-side front and side at 669 State St.

Harlan Bishop, $325, to re-roof at 717 Prindle St.

Mrs. Emma Moore, $100, to repair roof at 1298 Cascade Ave.

Hazel Amrine, $150, to re-roof at 2437 Bishop Road.

Gordon Viles, $300, for concrete slab at 1693 Eight St.

Marie A. Rousseau, $325, for gas stove and heater at 430 Prindle St.

Stan Hedwall, $400, for gas wall heater at 2653 19th St.

Henry Gatch, $250, to convert to gas at 1219 Pacific Ave.

Dr. L. E. Hedgren, $300, to convert to gas at 2541 Snively Ave.

B. F. Woods, no valuation, to install gas service at 784 Washington Ave.

Henry Gatch, to install gas service at 1006 Washington Ave.

Dave Guyon, to install gas service at 955 Summit Road.

Jennie Roberts, to install gas service at 1696 12th St.

Stan Hedwall, to install gas service at 2663 19th St.

Ronald E. James, to install gas service at 1646 Adams Ave.

Delta Burton, $250, to install space heater and gas piping at 213 No. King St.

Adam Kepper, $100, to install gas hotwater heater at 1117 W. First St.

Mary J. Collins, $250, to install gas piping and space heater at 1107 ÒJÓ St.

Osborne Construction Co., $400, to install gas piping and floor furnace at 412 Brock St. ÊOsborne Construction Co., $500, to apply sheetrock at 412 Brock St.

G. R. Hoover, $500, to apply bricks on front of house at 802 Alder St.
