Permits Total $41,015

Building Pace Slumps In Lewis County Area

Lewis County's construction pace fell off some $10,500 during the past week as 40 building permits, valued at a total of $41,015, were issued to Twin City and county residents. Last week's total was over $51,000.

Despite taking out only five permits, county residents were again tops in value with at total of $23,800. Centralians were issued 24 permits worth $10,010, while 11 permits were issued to Chehalis residents. Total Chehalis permit value was $7,205.

The week's most valuable permit went to John Kjosness of Mossyrock for construction of a house and barn. Value of the Kjosness permit is $14,000.

James d. Springer, $5,000 for construction and remodeling near Randle.

Harold C. Land, $1,800 to build a cabin at Packwood.

Curtis E. Ellis, $1,500 for remodeling on Ford's Prairie.

William L. Wilson, $1,500 for remodeling at Mineral.

Building permits in Chehalis this week went to:

Mrs. Ed Jones, $2,500 to construct a carport at 1036 Terrace Road.

Corp. Y-Most Properties, $1,900 for general remodeling at 804 Market St.

Guy R. Smith, $500 for remodeling kitchen at 1675 11th St.

Ralph Hanks, $350 to re-roof at 1371 Washington Ave.

Harold Knizek, $400 for general repairs at 1483 Cascade Ave.

Albert L. Davis, $250 to construct siding on garage at 1279 Lewis St.

Perry Bros., $800 to construct a grease interceptor at 512 State St.

Robert Venemon, $250 to convert to gas at 1532 William Ave.

St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church, $75 to construct a fire escape at Prindle St. and Pacific Ave.

E. G. McClees, $100 to build a back porch at 1332 Park Hill Ave.

W. C. Arrington, $80 to construct a sidewalk and patio at 1633 Pacific Ave.

Mrs. H. L. Norris, $250 to construct utility room and install plumbing fixtures at 808 West Locust St.

Bank Check Supply, $100 to install sprinkler system heads at 316 East Cherry St.

H. T. George, $100 to repair foundation of house at 108 South Washington Ave.

Don McCandless, $100 to install hot water heater at 112 1/2 South Tower Ave.

Archie Galster, $45 to tear down garage and construct addition to woodshed.

Ted Butcher, $1,000 to remodel front of store at 114 North Pearl St.

Charles Davis, $50 to construct tool shed at 103 South Baker St.

Florence Hinken, $150 to install garage doors at 1422 Ham Road.
