"Winlock Pioneer Dies"
Mrs. Clara McKay, 73, a resident of Winlock district the past 51 years, died at her home Tuesday. Her health had been poor some time, but she had been bedfast only about three weeks. She was born in Parrotsville, Tenn., February 15, 1862. Mrs. McKay came here in 1884 from Texas. The widower, Robert, survives; also two sons, Emmet of Warrenton, Ore. and Kenneth of Winlock; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Crocker of Winlock and Mrs. Sallie Hurst of Toledo; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. T. S. West, Winlock and Mrs. Florence Thomas of Spokane. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon. Burial in the local cemetery will be directed by the Fissel Funeral Home, Chehalis.
