C. F. Hartsell, Claquato Pioneer, Dies

Coss F. Hartsell, who had resided in Lewis county almost half a century, died early Monday morning at his home at Claquato, three miles west of Chehalis, following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Hartsell was born in Virginia 71 years ago. He was one of the best known and respected farmers of the Chehalis valley, living in the county 47 years. Surviving relatives are the widow, Mrs. Mary Hartsell; and two sons, Lee and Leffel Hartsell of route 1 Chehalis; a daughter, Mrs. M. M. Randle of Winlock; and five grandchildren. The body was removed to Boone's Mortuary, where funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Carl Johnson of the Christian church officiated. Burial was at Claquato.
