Combined Rites Planned
TOLEDO - Combined funeral services will be Saturday morning in Toledo for Robert Eugene Chandler, 33, and four of his children who died early Wednesday when fire destroyed their Toledo home.
The children who perished in the fire were Donna Rose Chandler, 8; Margaret Louise Chandler, 9; Teresa Lee Chandler, 11, and Richard Dean Chandler, 13.
Mr. Chandler, born Sept. 25, 1936, in Denver, Colo., was a logger. He had lived in the Toledo area for several years and was graduated from Toledo High School.
Active in Sports
Active in all sports Mr. Chandler worked with Toledo Little League baseball teams. He was a member of the Chehalis Eagles Aerie and was a captain of the Toledo Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving Mr. Chandler are his widow, Marilee, and a son, Eugene Robert, both of Toledo; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chandler, and a brother Earl (Chick) Chandler Jr., all of Grants Pass, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Lee, Craig, Colo.; two nieces and a nephew.
The deceased children all were born in Toledo. Donna Rose was born May 10, 1962; Margaret Louise, Oct. 8, 1960; Teresa Lee, Sept. 2, 1958, and Richard Dean, May 6, 1957.
All attended the Toledo schools and were members of the Toledo Presbyterian Church.
Richard Dean Chandler would have been an eigth grader next fall. He was a member of the Little League baseball team.
Survivors Listed
Surviving the children are their mother, Marilee and a brother, Eugene Robert; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chandler, Grants Pass, Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. William Stepp, Toledo; great-grandmother, Mrs. Minnie Brinkman, Chehalis; an aunt, uncle and several cousins.
Services for the fire victims are scheduled Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Toledo Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Kenneth Killin and William Hassler officiating. Interment will follow in the Toledo Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fir Lawn Funeral Chapel, Toledo.
