Cecil Pier Funeral Is Held Thursday

There was a large attendance of friends and realtives Thursday afternoon of last week at the funeral of the late Cecil H. Pier, whose death occurred September 10 in Arizona. Rev. E. L. Kechley of the Christian church officiated and there were many beautiful floral offerings. Mr. Pier was a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Pier of Forest. He was born at Chehalis, May 25, 1908, the family moving to Forest before Cecil was a year old. He continued to make his home there up to and following his marriage to Rubecca Morris of Morton, September 27 1930, until he became ill with tuberculosis in January, 1931. Mr. Pier left here January 28, arriving in Arizona the latter part of February. He remained there until his death, at the age of 23 years, three months and 25 days. Mr. Pier leaves to mourn his death his widow, Mrs. Rubecca Pier, now of Tacoma; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Pier of Forest; four brothers, E. R. Pier of Raymond, Cleo Pier of R. 3, Chehalis; Orval and Arthur Pier of Forest; and a sister, Mrs. Beulah Richardson of Bucoda; also a wide circle of friends. The family wishes through these columns to express its full appreciation of the many kindnesses of friends in the bereavement it has suffered.
