DEATHS REPORTED THIS WEEK

Gladys Verda Cox.

Miss Gladys Verda Cox, 15 year old Chehalis Junior high student, died Saturday at her home on Ohio avenue after a brief illness. She had resided localy the past eight years. Surviving relatives are the parents, mr. and Mrs. C. C. Cox; a brother, Harold Cox, and a sister, Mrs. Violet Meyn of Chehalis; also a sister, Mrs. Leona Garland of Boise, Ida. The body was removed to the Sticklin Mortuary, where funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. Burial was at Greenwood burial park.

Elmer Rose.

Elmer Rose, 9 year old son of Mrs. Mary Rose of Riffe, died at a local hospital Wednesday, following a deferred operation for appendicitis. He is survived by his mother; three sisters, Ella, Alice and Viola; two brothers, Alvin and Arthur; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Rose of Riffe. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the church at Mossyrock. Rev. Dollarhide officiated. Burial in the Riffe cemetery was directed by Sticklin's Mortuary.

Herbert Newland.

Many relatives and friends attended the funeral of the late Herbert Newland Saturday afternoon at the Presbyterian church. There were many beautiful floral offerings. Rev. John C. Tourtellot officiated. Pallbearers included old time friends of Mr. Newland and the family. Burial was at Claquato, directed by the Fissel Funeral Home.
