Descendants of these early Tennessee settlers believe there were stills in the hills around Ainslie like the homestead areas in section 12 where the Snows, Carns, Cunninghams and McGills were. It was a corn whiskey. Many barrels were ordered from the East to contain the brew. The barrels were the size that would fit under a rocking chair where the brew would be stirred from the rocking motion. Notice the very old style insulators for the two wire feed to their place.
