"Pioneer Passes"
Funeral services were held at the Catholic church Monday morning at 9 o'clock for Dan Plamondon, who died Saturday of apoplexy at his home at Olequa. He was born December 22, 1859, in Oregon, and moved with his parents, Simon and Mary Plamondon, to the old donation claim known as the Cowlitz Landing near Toledo. He was married to Esther McDonald, who died in 1888. In 1900 he married Mrs. Mary Wilson, who with three daughters, Mrs. Anna catlin of Winlock, Mrs. Mamie Cottonware of Winlock and Mrs. Alice McCoy of Castle Rock; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Symon, of Olympia, and one sister, Mary King of Castle Rock. Mr. Plamondon was president of the organization of Cowlitz Indians and was a faithful workere in their behalf for their clamis from the United.
