"Indian Examiner Here"

James H. Miller, examiner of inheritance of the U.S. Indian service, held a hearing at the Citizens' Club Saturday to determine the heirship of Dick Satanas, well known Cowlitz valley Indian who died last October. Satanas left a considerable estate, some in Yakima district, some at Tahola, which will go to his three minor heirs, Mary, aged 14, Nicholas, aged 11, and Lucinda, aged 9 years. Sam Eyle of Nevika, John Ike Kinswa of Silver Creek, Jim Kiona of Randle, Pete Thomas of R. 2, Chehalis, and Jim Yoke of Lewis, appeared as witnesses to verify claims of the three Satanas children. All are well known Lewis county Indians. At Castle Rock, Friday, Examiner Miller took testimony as to heirship of Charley and Ernest Pete.
